Dikuku Grills LTD is a subsidiary of Grandeur Products Ltd whose mother company is Greenfield Ltd. Our head offices are in Kenya, Embu County. Our story begins in 2015 when the parent company (Grandeur products) started raring high quality free range or grain fed chicken at our extensive farms in Mbeere Embu County. We proud ourselves at producing “anti-biotics” and commercial free chicken which has become a unique delicacy with our consumers. The positive feedback from our customers overwhelmed us with joy.
Dikuku opened its first outlet in Embu town, offering fresh-roasted chicken, chips, and tea, both supplied from our parent company farms. Our name was inspired by the classic tale, “The kuku” (the chicken), a Swahili word, meaning Dikuku in French, summoning the tradition of farm to fork. As a matter of fact, Di-kuku is a the name for true chicken in 100% of Bantu languages, from the Southern Sotho dialects of Southern Africa (Tswana/Pedi/Sotho) is Dikgogo, to the Nguni dialects (Zulu, Xhosa, Swati) is Inkuku, to the Agikuyu, Embu, Meru, Kamba, Mijikenda of Eastern Africa, is Kuku, the Bantu speakers across half of Africa simplified their delicious meals to KUKU- meaning the chicken.
Over the years, Dikuku has opened over 10 outlets across Eastern counties of Kenya and Nairobi County. Its chicken either raw or grilled, as a culture to all Dikuku Stores, which are always dedicated to Our Mission: With every service, with every conversation, with every community, we nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection with whole organic chicken raised in a humane manner.
